A Review of the Middle East Airlines (MEA) “Cedar” Lounge, Beirut Airport (BEY)

Overall Rating: 5/10

An airline run lounge operated by MEA. Accessed on this occasion with a SkyTeam Elite Plus Card and a MEA Flight. Also used by a number of other airlines, primarily SkyTeam members.

This the main MEA lounge (“Cedar Lounge”). Crowded, noisy and claustrophobic atmosphere, albeit with a better food selection than the “Beirut Lounge” annex down the hallway (also operated by MEA).

Food:

Pastries, pasta, vegetables, chicken, salad etc from a hot buffet. Very busy!

Drinks:

A waiter served bar with a standard array of alcoholic and soft drinks, including Champagne. Soft drink and water stations throughout lounge.

WiFi and Power:

Fast Lounge WiFi with a password.

Views and Comfort:

No views from the lounge. Felt very crowded, noisy and claustrophobic. It had the atmosphere of a shopping centre with a big arched glass ceiling and lots of hard surfaces. Annex / “Beirut” Lounge is far preferable if you want to relax.
